Spring Tryouts
AAI holds tryouts prior to each spring season, with the dual purpose of each coach getting to evaluate each player prior to the draft, as well as creating the opportunity for teams to be as evenly matched as possible.
All players will get an opportunity to field, throw, catch, hit, and run during tryouts. All registered players, with the exception of protected players, are expected to try out in order to be drafted onto a team. If a non-protected player does not try out during the scheduled tryout dates, he or she will be placed in the "Blind Draft". All registered players will be placed on a team.
*Note: If you are hoping to play in one of our "competitive" leagues, you MUST attend a tryout to be placed in that league. Exceptions are reviewed on a case-by-case basis. See our Handbook for more information.
SPRING 2024 TRYOUT DETAILS

Date: Saturday, February 3rd and Sunday, February 4th
Location: AAI Complex
Please plan to arrive 15 minutes early to warm up, line up in alphabetical order, and be ready to start promptly at the noted start time**.
**Note that some divisions will be split into multiple groups that will be sorted by last name. Please, read the schedule above carefully for Saturday & Sunday tryouts for your designated time slot.

TRYOUT FAQS
What happens if my child does not come to tryouts?
Your child will be placed on a team, but will be in the "blind draft". After player evaluations, the coaches draft players one at a time to ensure evenly matched teams. Any players who do not attend the tryouts will be placed in a "blind draft", meaning their names are placed in a hat and drawn once all other players have been drafted.
What does my player need to bring to tryouts?
At a minimum, a glove and a helmet. A bat will be available for your child to borrow if needed.
Does my player have to attend both tryout dates?
No. Players are only required to try out once.
What time should we arrive for the tryout?
Arrive 15 minutes prior to your schedule start time. It's a chance to find your field, find your place in line, and get warmed up.
Does my player need to stay through the entire tryout?
No. Once your player fields, throws, and hits, they are free to leave.
Does the 4U CoEd TeeBall league have tryouts?
No.
What happens if there is inclement weather?
You will be notified via email if there is a change in date, time, or location.
